Real Traveller Reviews
Sharavathi Kandla Mangrove Boardwalk
Early morning or late afternoon visits are still best for cooler weather and good lighting, but be prepared for uneven paths.Facilities are minimal, so bring your own refreshments.
Overall, it’s an okay outing, but improvements are needed for it to realize its full potential as an eco-tourism destination.
Way inside the forest is so beautiful that one should really visit n enjoy it….
You may feel scared but it’s really so good
But we’ve to be little cautious while walking on the broad walk as there are spaces between each wooden planks. And kids legs may get stucked in it.
When I went with my family, there were so many pre wedding photo shoots going on.
So I can even say it’s one of the good places in Karnataka for pre-wedding photo shoots.
Boating can also be done in the SHARAVATHI RIVER nearby.
There we will get to see the beautiful scenery of the mangrove forest and backwater of the Sharavathi river .
This place is so peaceful and good for the photographer or photo freaks.
I’m sure they will definitely get a lot of good pictures here to click 😁
Nearby this place, we can even visit ECO BEACH, which is also beautiful and peaceful
Board walk is really nice experience and entry fee of 10 rupees is really worth it.
The Experience:
The boardwalk is well-constructed, winding through dense mangrove forests, and allowing visitors to immerse themselves in this unique habitat. As you walk along the path, you’re surrounded by the intricate root systems of the mangroves, which create a surreal and calming environment. The boardwalk is elevated, making it easy to navigate even during high tide, and provides stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
The area is rich in biodiversity, and you might spot various species of birds, crabs, and other wildlife that call the mangroves home. The tranquility of the place, combined with the gentle sounds of nature, makes for a peaceful and rejuvenating experience.
Best Time to Visit:
The best time to visit is during the early morning or late afternoon when the weather is cooler, and the lighting is perfect for photography. Visiting during these times also increases your chances of spotting wildlife.
Facilities:
While the boardwalk itself is well-maintained, facilities in the surrounding area are minimal. It’s a good idea to carry your own water and snacks, as there are limited options nearby. There are no entry fees, making it an affordable outing, but be mindful that there might be some informal parking arrangements as the place is still relatively undeveloped as a tourist spot.
Overall Verdict:
The Sharavathi Kandla Mangrove Boardwalk is a great spot for those looking to experience the beauty of nature up close. It’s an educational and serene experience, perfect for a quiet day out. However, the lack of nearby amenities means it’s best suited for those who are prepared for a more rustic adventure. With a bit more development, this place could easily become a major eco-tourism destination.
