Netrani, or Pigeon Island, lies in the Arabian Sea off Murudeshwar and is widely considered the best dive site on India's west coast, with coral, reef fish, turtles and, occasionally, whale sharks.
Certified operators in Murudeshwar run 'try dives' for beginners as well as fun dives for certified divers, plus snorkelling trips. The boat ride takes about an hour.
