Seasons in Honavar
Best time (October to February): the most comfortable months, with clear skies, low humidity, calm seas and pleasant evenings. Maximums are around 33 °C and nights drop to about 20 °C. October is still green from the rains, with full waterfalls and fewer visitors.
Summer beaches (March to May): hot and humid, with maximums of 33 °C and up, but sea breezes help. Plan the beach for mornings and evenings. Mangoes and cashews are in season and the evenings by the sea are long.
Roaring waterfalls (June to October): the monsoon brings over three metres of rain and July alone gets more than a metre. The Western Ghats turn emerald and Jog Falls is at its most spectacular, but beaches are closed to swimmers from June to September and boat trips are limited.
