Cabs come as 4-seaters and 6–7 seaters, AC or non-AC. They aren't available for very short trips like in metro cities, so half-day or full-day hire works best. Book in advance.

Why rent a cab in Honavar?

Honavar's sights are spread out: Apsarakonda to the south, Karikanamma and Gerusoppa inland, Gokarna and Mirjan Fort to the north and Murudeshwar and Bhatkal to the south. Public buses don't reach many of them, so a cab gives you flexibility, comfort and a driver who knows the roads.

Types of cab hire

• Local rentals by the hour or half-day suit sightseeing around town: the boating jetty, the mangrove boardwalk, Eco Beach and Apsarakonda.
• Outstation day trips to Jog Falls, Gokarna or Murudeshwar are usually booked for the full day.
• Airport transfers to Goa or Mangaluru are best booked a day ahead.

Tips for booking a cab

Confirm AC or non-AC, the vehicle size and the pickup time. Save the driver's number on WhatsApp. If you arrive by overnight bus or train, ask your homestay to arrange a pickup. For short hops around town an auto-rickshaw is quicker to find.
