Bangara Kusuma ('golden flower') is a hidden waterfall near Gerusoppa that most travellers drive straight past. You can glimpse it from several points on the highway. To stand at its foot, take a short, easy trek of 30 to 60 minutes through dense forest.
The falls are at their fullest from July to October. The trail is suitable for most ages, but it gets muddy and leech-friendly in the rains.
Tips
- Go with a local guide in the monsoon.
- Salt or leech socks help in the rains.
