Murudeshwar

Murudeshwar, 30 km south of Honavar, is a seaside temple town with a giant 37 m Shiva statue, a towering gopura and scuba trips to Netrani Island.

Murudeshwar

Murudeshwar sits on a small headland jutting into the Arabian Sea. A giant Shiva statue (about 37 m) looks out to sea and the temple's 20-storey gopura has a lift to the top for an extraordinary view of the coast.

From November to May, dive boats leave Murudeshwar for Netrani Island, the best scuba site on India's west coast.
